A Week Out West

Arizona, Part 3: Grand Canyon

Our entire Thursday was dedicated to the Grand Canyon. We arrived around 10am, just in time to catch the last of the morning light (and a bit of fog too) for some pictures from the lookout tower.

Apparently we were also just in time for a surprise snowfall!

With the snow came the clouds that filled the canyon for the next few hours ...

After a long lunch, some aimless wandering and reading just about every word on every informational sign, we'd managed to pass enough time for the weather to change again, bringing our day full-circle weather-wise :)

Anyone who talked to me in the month or two prior to my trip knew how excited I was about finally getting to see the Grand Canyon and not even the less-than-optimal weather could put a damper on the day for me - it was extraordinary!
