Referendum 2011
The drumming and singing started early last night and was still going strong when I woke up this morning ... 5 years after the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement that ended 40 years of civil war in Sudan, voting for the Referendum on secession has finally begun. In Ganyliel and around the rest of the country, people will be lining up all week to cast their votes and determine the future of their country. It's an exciting and historic time to be here .... and, of course, I've been taking pictures!

Fascinating times ... what do the people in Ganyliel say about the referendum? The beating of the drums must be very powerful, indeed. Keep the posts coming. Thinking of you and sending love,
Ellen
